BIO
Beth Chandler has been playing music since age 2, and started lessons at age 4 on piano. After spending her early years learning the keyboard, the violin caught her attention and she went on to study violin, graduating from the University of Washington with a Music degree. Beth has over 40 years of performance experience on both instruments including Symphonic/Classical, Chamber Music, Broadway Show Music, Rock and Roll, Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, and Country. Local appearances at the Paramount Theatre, 5th Avenue Theatre, and many other venues as well as travel to many international locations to perform are part of her resume.
She has performed/recorded with many artists such as Bonnie Raitt, Danny O’Keefe, Ben Vereen, Jackson Browne, Yul Brynner, Dionne Warwick, Robert Goulet, Sammy Davis Jr, Sam Smith, and Mark O’Connor, to name a few.
Beth is currently offering violin lessons. She teaches all ages and believes that it’s never too late to learn how to play music, or revisit where it may have been left off years ago. It is her sincere hope that her passion and enthusiasm for playing the violin, and music in general, is transferred to her students at each lesson, making violin study truly a life changing experience. Besides Classical study, Beth is also very familiar with Jazz and improvisational styles, as well as Country and Celtic.
Beth maintains a busy professional schedule, including performing as Assistant Principal 2nd Violin of the Yakima Symphony, Juneau, AK Symphony, Federal Way Symphony, Chamber Music groups, and also Solo Strolling Violin. She is also active on piano/keyboards in many local R&B/Dance bands, Jazz groups, and Solo Cocktail Piano in such venues as the Sorrento Hotel, Seattle Tennis Club, and Columbia Tower Club. She is the leader of the Meadowbrook String Trio, which performs in the Washington area. Currently Beth is a member
of the Roger Fisher Band, founding guitarist of the rock group "Heart", playing both violin
and keyboards.
